10th grade, it’s that time of the year where YOU will have the opportunity to show up and show out through your end of the year projects, presentations, and personal reflections. On Monday, June 10th, you will be measured by your personal growth, ability to reflect, and creative ideas- not your test scores. You will reflect on your earning from a series of lessons, activities, and projects throughout the year and will provide samples or products from your perspective classes to demonstrate growth in agency, your ability to think critically, reflect, and present work of your choice.

U.S. History II Video Reflection of Self (Term 4-IP Project- 100pts)
OBJECTIVES: The purposes of doing this “Letter to Self/ Advice to a Youngster” is:
1. To provide a record of your life and who you are now
2. To anchor in time your current views, attitudes, philosophy, and outlook
3. To explore your feelings and opinions about U.S History II
4. To create a video, a year from now, that will have a significant value and impact to a rising sophomore
5. This is always a fun letter to read when you are a senior to see how much you have changed over your high school career.
6. Video must be less than 1:15secs

A Celebration of Black Lives, Movement, Music & Culture From the 18th Century- 21st Century
Background Information: The Harlem Renaissance was a significant social and cultural movement, which took place in the 1920s and 1930s following the Great Migration during which thousands of Africa-Americans left the south and moved north and west. The result was the flourishing of art, music and literature that reflected the history and experience of the African-American.

Objective: During the Progressive Era, muckrakers were journalists, writers, artists, photographers, etc. who investigated and exposed corruption and injustice to the public in an effort to promote change. To connect this unit to the modern day, you become a Muckraker and expose a issue in your community that a community leader is trying to tackle and evaluate their success.
Task: You will …
•Identify a community-leader, influencer, or politician in YOUR community and or neighborhood
•Investigate a social problem or issue they are trying to tackle
•Describe the method(s) they are using to try to create change
•Evaluate how successful their reforms were by assessing their methods, results, and successes.

Therefore, TechBoston Academy is proud to honor and celebrate the heritage and identity of the many cultures and communities throughout our city and school system.

Conduct Research- Students will have the opportunity to research a country and report out on FOUR of the following topics: academics, attitudes, beliefs, music, food, family, government's, politics, people, religion, social norms, traditional style of clothing and values, in poster board format. (Please see the examples below)

1) Students will select a country and four focus areas to research
2) Student will complete research and create a draft brainstorm of their project on a vision board
